This month’s inspiration for the Art Bead Scene challenge is this painting:

Vaas met bloemen in een venster :: Vase with Flowers in a Window, 1620
Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder
Oil on Copper, 64cm x 46 cm |
Le tout sur fil de lin ciré ramené de Thailande.
I love all the warm colours, the lovely messiness of the flowers, the window opening on a faraway landscape and the hidden insects and bird.
I liked the painting, I love Dutch painters, but I had no clue as to how I could put this lively bouquet in a jewelry piece..
And, some may have already seen it , but I opened a shop on Etsy (you can follow the link on the right) and it took me quite some time.
But this afternoon, the bugs kept coming to my mind.
I took out my beads, searched, selected, eliminated, chose and finally had a lot of fun designing this necklace with a lot of natural elements.
Wooden pendant by More Skye Jewels, wooden dragonfly and leaf, tagua nut beads and flowers, gemstone chips, shell pieces, flower glass beads from Blue Seraphim, enameled clasp by Bead Swede Supplies and polymer clay house bead from Humblebeads.
All this strung on waxed linen I got in Thailand.
And a few brass bugs hidden here and there…
