So, we’re back from our week in London and I’m slowly coming back over here.
I will start with the Art Jewelry Elements Component of the Month. I was lucky again to be picked up as a guest participant to it. This month, it was heart by Rebekah Payne of Tree Wings Studio.
Of course, I had to borrow a picture from the blog. I don’t know if I will ever remember to take a picture, before.
I chose a grey drift wood heart.
As soon as we came back I started on it.
I immediately decided it was going to be a bracelet and imagined something a little rustic, with found objects as if coming back from a walk on the beach.
But this is not what happened.
While looking for beads, my seed beads crossed my way and I thought why not a little experiment in free form peyote again?
I looked for some natural, matte, neutral colors.
And chose contrast, black and Swarovski crystal.
Now, it’s time to go see all the other creations.
When I look at your picture, the first thing I can remember are those small icicles that used to form in the freezers of 80-90s refrigerators – Tiny, crystalline, cool with a hint of a fantasy element and thats what ur neck too represents to me

Hi Karin, Having Jen's beads as the only color really lets them be the focus of the necklace. Your design is wonderful.

Such a beauty Karin! I love that you chose to go with free-form peyote… it so beautifully echos the crashing waves of the sea. The subtle variations in the black beads and the pop of sparkling golden yellow give such a nice contrast to the little heart. I've always admired your skill with seed beads! Thank you so much for joining me in the challenge!
