Trois semaines après avoir commencé à broder autour de ce cabochon en pâte polymère sans trop savoir quoi en faire, voici un collier. Au fur et à mesures d’autres perles et un cabochon de chez Majoyoal brodés aux couleurs de l’automne se sont imposés. Les cercles en cuivre et verre sont des tiges que j’avais travaillé pour des boucles d’oreilles. L’une d’elles s’est cassée. Rien ne se perd. Par contre, j’ai pris conscience du temps passé depuis ces boucles d’oreilles faites en mars 2016, le cabochon acheté en septembre 2014 chez Sculpted Windows et maintenant, et comme le plaisir de manier les couleurs m’avait manqué, mais j’y travaille.

I’ve finally completed a piece, three weeks after having started beading around this cabochon. At the time I had no idea what it would become, maybe a brooch, but then it evolved, I beaded around several other beads and a cabochon from Majoyoal and there it is. I even used glass headpins I had used in earrings in 2016 of which one broke. I had quite a shock realizing how time had fled since I bought this polymer cabochon from Sculpted Windows in September 2014. And how I missed playing with beads and colors, but this I’m working on.

2017

Dernier jour de cette année.
Une année de reconstruction, de consolidation.
Une année ou j’ai réinventé mon travail, retrouvé la lecture et découvert le lâcher prise.
Une année constructive mais peu créative.
Mais comme je l’ai découvert également, on ne peut pas tout faire à la fois.
Alors patience.
J’ai bien l’intention de faire de 2018, une année constructive, inventive et créative.
Et pour amorcer le mouvement, le dernier collier de 2017.

Last day of this particular year.
It was a year of reconstruction and of consolidation.
A year when I reinvented my way of working, I found the way back to reading and discovered letting go.
A constructive year, however not very creative.
But this year I also discovered that everything comes in its own time. 
No need to rush.
I intend  2018 to be a constructive, inventive and creative year.
And for a start, here’s my last necklace of 2017

Cela fait un peu trop de temps que je ne suis pas passée par là, voilà quelques petites choses du mois de septembre que j’avais oublié de  montrer.
Quelques boucles d’oreilles et un pendentif brodé enfin monté en collier.

I’ve spent a little too much time away from here, so here are a few pieces I had forgotten to show you.
A couple pair of earrings and an embroidered pendant I finally made into a necklace.

Le tableau proposé par Art Bead Scene pour le défi du mois m’a intrigué mais comme je n’avais pas de temps, je n’y ai pas beaucoup réfléchi. Avec les vacances, je l’ai regardé à nouveau et ce qui m’a plu c’est la hauteur, le vide, les lignes et le contraste ombre et lumière.

I was intrigued by Art Bead Scene’s monthly challenge painting but as I didn’t have any time I didn’t give it much thought. With the holidays, and some more time, I looked at it again and what I liked was the height, the emptiness, the lines and the dark/light contrast.

J’ai eu du mal à trouver les perles d’art, j’ai tout sorti et finalement j’ai choisi un pendentif Round Rabbit et des petits charms Majoyoal.
Une fois ceux-ci trouvé, quoi faire?
Là encore, en regardant le tableau, ce qui m’attire, c’est cette lampe ou chandelier qui descend et c’est cette idée que j’ai suivi.

I had some trouble finding the art beads, I took everything out and finally chose a Round Rabbit pendant and Majoyoal charms.
That done, what to make?
I went back to the painting. What attracted me was the lamp or chandelier coming down and I followed that idea.

Mais je n’ai pas oublié les autres perles sélectionnées et comme elles s’accordaient avec le collier et la peinture j’en ai fait des boucles d’oreilles.
J’ai utilisé deux perles de Glass Bead Art, deux perles de Helen Jewellery et les charms de Majoyoal.

But I didn’t forget about the other chosen beads and as they matched the necklace  and the painting I made a pair of earrings.
I used glass beads from Glass Bead Art and Helen Jewellery. The charms are from Majoyoal.
