Du Japon, j’ai ramené des kits, de bijoux, rien d’étonnant, mais aussi des maquettes de boutiques japonaises.  Pour ce qui est des bijoux, je pense que je devrais m’en sortir car j’ai une petite idée de comment ils se construisent.
Par contre, la maquette c’est totalement nouveau pour moi. Les modèles étaient tellement jolis que j’ai voulu tenter en me disant qu’avec un peu de logique je devrais y arriver.
Mais, voilà avec quoi j’ai commencé:

I brought back quite a number of kits from Japan, jewelry kits, nothing unusual there, but  also miniature shop kits. I think I will be able to manage the jewelry as I already have some knowledge of how jewelry is made. However, miniatures are totally new to me. The examples were so pretty that I wanted to have a go at it and I thought that with a bit of logic I would work it out.
But, here is what I started with:

Beaucoup de morceaux et rien qui ressemble au modèle fini… Les explications, tout en japonais et je n’y trouve pas plus d’indications. Alors, je me dis que je ne suis certainement pas la première à se retrouver perplexe, j’ai cherché sur YouTube, et j’ai trouvé de quoi m’aider à construire mon échoppe d’onigiris.

Lots of bits and pieces but nothing I can figure out. Everything is written in Japanese and I can’t make any satisfying guesswork from the numbers I can recognize.I thought I was probably not the first one to face these difficulties  so I turned to YouTube and there I found tutorials to help me build my onigiri shop.

Voilà ce qu’étais mon espace de travail, les vidéos, le thé pour garder le rythme, des bouts de toits, des onigiris en train de sècher et un bouchon en alu sur ma colle dont le tube a explosé lorsque j’ai appuyé trop fort. Dommage pour la précision. Mais au bout de deux jours, j’avais fait ça:

This was my workspace with everything at hand, videos, tea to keep going on, bits of roofs, onigiris drying and a hand made cap on my glue when it exploded. I squeezed too hard, difficult to be precise after that. But two days later, I had built this:

Je ne suis pas peu fière, même s’il y a beaucoup d’erreurs! En tout cas, j’ai adoré.
Heureusement qu’il m’en reste quelques unes à faire.
Je vais d’abord tenter un kit de bijoux et ensuite je vais avoir du mal à choisir!
Boutique de thé,  de takoyaki (boulette fourée d’un morceau de poulpe), de ramen ou de patisseries?

I’m quite proud of myself, even if I made plenty of mistakes! I loved doing this.
The good thing is that I still have a few left to make.
I will first try one of the jewelry kits and then I will have to choose between all these, teashop, takoyaki shop, ramen shop or sweets shop. Difficult choice!
