En 2018, je me suis lancée dans mon premier bracelet manchette brodé pour un défi, je ne sais plus lequel, mais j’en ai retrouvé l’inspiration dans mes photos.
In 2018, I started my first embroidered cuff for a challenge, although I have no recollection of what it was except that I found the inspiration in my photo gallery.
J’ai sélectionné des cabochons de toutes sortes, pas trop grands, en verre, en pierre, en céramique et je me suis arrêtée là. Je l’ai repris plusieurs fois pour broder le contour, pour sertir les cabochons, pour broder l’intérieur.
Tout récemment, en rangeant j’ai retrouvé tout un tas de projets plus ou moins avancés, et j’ai décidé de terminer ceux qui me plaisaient encore. Celui-ci était le plus ancien. Hier je l’ai terminé et je suis ravie du résultat. La broderie est loin d’être parfaite, elle est parfois même incohérente, mais quand je la vois, il y a des petits bouts de ces huit années. Maintenant je vais m’attaquer à un autre projet laissé en suspens.
I selected all sorts of smaller cabochons, glass, ceramic, stone. I glued them on my foundation. Put the whole thing away. I took it back again, bezeled the cabs, and put it back away, until recently, almost 8 years later.
As I was cleaning and tidying my beading and crafting space, I found out I had a lot of unfinished projects and as a way of coming back here I decided to finish the ones I still liked and started by this one.
I like it, it is far from perfect but all the little pieces remind me of those eight years that have gone by. Now I’m going to choose another WIP to finish.
